This is the story of "Kage Ryu" that happens in ancient Japan. The world in which Ryu lives there are only three kinds of people- Fighters, A group of people with many magical abilities who fight each other to test themselves and find out who is the best. Medicos, Another group of people who have the powers of healing and never maintain an alliance with any Fighter clan and lastly the Mere Mortals who have no magical abilities and form the larger amount of the world population. The story is set in a little village of Japan where there are two major Fighter Clans- The Sunshine Clan and The Dark Shadow clan each of them rule the village for a period of 14 years and when the time to decide who should rule the Village comes they just have a set of "Duels" and the Clan which wins the maximum number of Duels rules the Village. The story starts at the end of the 14th year of Sunshine Clan Rule and Elders from both the clans have a meeting to decide the next Dueling Competition.
